Salann na Mara (Salt of the Sea) is a high quality sea salt produced on the Isle of Skye.

Eighth Day were commissioned to design, develop and art direct the Isle of Skye Sea Salt Company brand identity, including its logo, stationery, packaging and website.

The identity incorporates bespoke typography, a simplified plaid pattern to provide a Scottish reference and fresh colours for a coastal feel.

The sea salt is produced entirely naturally and the branding and packaging reflect the environmental nature of the product; the packaging is made from 90% recycled stock and is designed to be reused.

Isle of Skye Sea Salt Company have won three awards in their first year of production: Great Taste Award, Highlands & Islands Environmental Award and Scotland Food & Drink Awards Finalist.

The BBC visited the island for James Martin's Home Comforts cookery programme.

From our first meeting on Skye, we knew that Eighth Day would be a great partner for us in creating the brand identity and packaging for our sea salt.
